Eddie Hearn

Eddie Hearn is one of the most influential figures in global sport and one of the most successful boxing promoters of his generation. Best known as the driving force behind Matchroom Boxing, Eddie has transformed the sport through record-breaking events, landmark broadcasting agreements and the promotion of some of boxing’s biggest stars. From stadium spectacles attracting tens of thousands of fans to pioneering international broadcast partnerships worth billions, he has consistently reshaped the commercial landscape of boxing. His ability to identify opportunities, build global brands and engage audiences has made him one of the most recognisable executives in sport and a highly sought-after keynote speaker on leadership, entrepreneurship, negotiation and business growth.

Educated in Essex, Eddie developed an early understanding of sport and business through the influence of his father, Barry Hearn, founder of Matchroom Sport. He began his career working within the Matchroom organisation before establishing Matchroom Boxing in 2010 following the promotion of Audley Harrison versus David Haye. His rise was rapid. He signed Olympic gold medallist Anthony Joshua in 2013 and promoted major events including Carl Froch versus George Groves II at Wembley Stadium and Anthony Joshua versus Wladimir Klitschko before a crowd of 90,000. He secured an exclusive six year broadcast deal with Sky Sports and later negotiated boxing’s first $1 billion agreement with DAZN. As Chairman of Matchroom Sport, Eddie led the company’s expansion into international markets, signed a global exclusive deal with DAZN, promoted Katie Taylor versus Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden, the first women’s headline fight at the venue, and continued to deliver major events including Canelo Álvarez versus Billy Joe Saunders, the Matchroom versus Queensberry 5v5 tournament and Conor Benn versus Chris Eubank Jr.

Beyond his promotional success, Eddie has become a prominent media personality. His candid communication style and business insight have made him a regular guest across leading television and radio programmes, sports broadcasts and international podcasts. He is widely recognised for his ability to explain complex commercial decisions in an accessible and entertaining way, helping to broaden boxing’s appeal to mainstream audiences. His interviews and appearances frequently generate significant engagement, reinforcing his reputation as one of sport’s most influential voices.

As Chairman of Matchroom Sport, Eddie oversees one of the world’s leading sports promotion companies, spanning multiple sporting disciplines and international markets. His career provides a masterclass in brand building, strategic partnerships, sales, leadership and innovation. Audiences value his first-hand experience negotiating transformative deals, managing elite talent and navigating high-pressure environments. Combining entrepreneurial vision with engaging storytelling and practical business lessons, Eddie delivers keynote presentations that inspire organisations to think bigger, embrace change and achieve sustained growth.
