Beena Ammanath

Beena Ammanath is the Executive Director of the Global Deloitte AI Institute and a leading authority on artificial intelligence, digital transformation and ethical technology. She is an in-demand keynote speaker known for her clarity and warm, practical style, helping leaders understand how AI is reshaping business and society. Her most notable achievement is writing the groundbreaking book ‘Trustworthy AI’, which has become essential reading for organisations navigating the complexities of responsible innovation.

Beena began her career in computer science and software engineering, lecturing at the University of Pune before moving into technical roles with Honeywell, Data Solutions and Systems, and later BT as Lead System Architect. After relocating to the United States, she expanded her expertise across finance and technology through leadership roles at helloasia.com, E*TRADE, and Bank of America. These early positions strengthened her ability to apply data science to real business challenges, something she later used to great effect at Thomson Reuters where she worked as Data Insights Lead. With a strong foundation in both engineering and business, including a master’s degree in computer science and an MBA in finance, Beena built a reputation for turning complex technical thinking into practical commercial outcomes.

Her profile grew rapidly as she began leading innovation at a global level. Beena became Vice President of Data Science and Innovation at GE, shaping AI strategy across aviation, healthcare, power and energy. She then joined Hewlett Packard Enterprise as CTO for Artificial Intelligence, creating new AI capabilities and guiding enterprise clients on emerging technologies. In 2020 she stepped into one of her most influential roles as Global Head of the Deloitte AI Institute and later continued as Executive Director, also guiding Deloitte’s agenda for Trustworthy and Ethical Technology. Alongside her corporate impact, she founded the nonprofit Humans for AI to increase diversity in the technology sector. Beena has served on several major boards including AnitaB.org and the Centre for Trustworthy Technology, and in 2025 she served as a Member of the Nomination Evaluation Committee for the United States National Medal of Technology and Innovation, the highest honour for technological achievement in the country.

Event organisers book Beena because she offers guidance that is deeply current and grounded in real experience. She speaks about trustworthy AI, the future of emerging technologies, diversity and inclusion, women in tech, human creativity in an AI-driven world, and leadership in times of rapid change. These topics are central to the future of business, and her ability to explain them with clarity and confidence offers audiences both reassurance and direction. Beena helps leaders understand the risks and possibilities of AI so they can act decisively and responsibly. Her keynotes inspire better decision-making, stronger teams and a more thoughtful approach to innovation, and she remains one of the most valuable voices to bring into any technology-focused event.
