Ben Hunte is an award-winning journalist, broadcaster and leading voice on LGBTQ+ rights, equality and human rights. Ben’s career is underpinned by a strong academic and professional foundation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Nottingham and a Master’s in Broadcast Journalism from City, University of London. Before fully establishing himself in journalism, Ben worked as a Strategic Partner Manager at Google, collaborating with major European media organisations. He later transitioned into broadcasting, becoming a presenter on BBC Radio 4, where he interviewed prominent cultural figures including Paul O’Grady and Stephen K Amos. His progression within the BBC saw him take on key roles including Africa Anchor, West Africa Correspondent and LGBT Correspondent. After leaving the BBC, Ben joined VICE News as a senior reporter before being promoted to Global Correspondent, where he travelled internationally producing investigative reporting on LGBTQ+ rights, race and inequality. In 2024, Ben transitioned to CNN as an Anchor and Correspondent, based between Atlanta and London.
