Jack’s journey into retail thought leadership began with a strong academic foundation. He studied History at the University of Kent, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree before completing a Master’s degree in History at Goldsmiths, University of London, where he achieved distinction. Although his studies were rooted in historical research and analysis, Jack soon discovered a passion for storytelling and communication. His early professional experience included working as a Scriptwriter for Elephant Family, where he wrote scripts for the ‘Jungle City’ exhibition in Edinburgh, performed by well-known actors and celebrities. This role sparked a wider career in content creation and marketing communications, allowing Jack to develop the skills that would later shape his speaking style.

Building on this creative foundation, Jack developed an extensive career in copywriting and communications across a range of industries. He worked as a Copywriter for Impellam, a FTSE-listed global recruitment company, producing digital marketing and brand content. Alongside this role, Jack contributed to projects for organisations including XLN, 438 Marketing, Sprint Marketing Consultancy and J. Murphy & Sons Limited, gaining experience across corporate communications, marketing strategy and brand storytelling. In 2016, Jack stepped into the role that would define his career when he became Head of Trends at Insider Trends. In this position, he works with major global brands including Nike, Jaguar Land Rover, IKEA, Marks & Spencer, Costa Coffee, Microsoft, Westfield and LVMH, helping them understand emerging retail trends, technological change and evolving customer expectations.
