Adriaan Kamp’s Biography:

Adriaan Kamp is a respected keynote speaker, Director of the Nyenrode Executive Energy Academy, and Founder of Energy For One World, known for his thoughtful focus on world energy, leadership and the global energy transition. With over 25 years in international project and business development roles across the oil and gas sector, his most notable achievement is establishing Energy For One World, a consulting practice dedicated to shaping sustainable energy-economy architectures and supporting UN sustainable development. As a speaker, Adriaan is valued for his balanced, human approach to some of the most challenging questions facing businesses and governments today.

Adriaan began his career with the Royal Dutch Shell Group, joining a rigorous nine month international training programme before progressing into leadership roles in Oman, Norway, Syria and Scotland. These early assignments gave him a practical understanding of upstream operations, organisational change and cross cultural management. After more than a decade with Shell, he shifted towards entrepreneurship, founding Timespots, a mobile technology venture that was nominated for the national innovation prize in 2004. He went on to take on senior responsibilities within Shell International, contributing to upstream capital project oversight, strategic business development and innovation initiatives which included early work on electrical mobility and unconventional energy projects.

Alongside industry roles, Adriaan built a strong academic foundation. He earned a Master’s in Applied Physics from Delft Technical University, focusing on robotics and AI, and later completed leadership studies at Nyenrode Business University. From 2009 onwards, he turned his attention to global sustainability and energy transition, founding Energy For One World and presenting his ideas at major international forums. He contributed to UN SDSN global working conferences at Columbia University, delivered specialised sessions at Trinity College Dublin and partnered with leading organisations to explore peace, climate action and sustainable development. His publication of the 99 Theses to Build Back Better in 2020 further demonstrated his ability to translate global challenges into practical leadership principles.
