Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff MBE retired from professional cricket as a true England legend in 2009, trading the bat for the microphone to become a well-known presenter and broadcaster. Freddie began his rise to cricketing fame in 1995 with Lancashire, earning his England Test debut in 1998. Over his international career, he played 79 Tests, scored 3,845 runs and took 226 wickets. He became a national hero during the 2005 Ashes series, delivering match-winning performances that helped England reclaim the urn for the first time in 16 years. Following his retirement from cricket, Freddie successfully transitioned into a popular TV presenter and broadcaster. His on-screen credits include Top Gear, A League of Their Own, and his BBC Radio 5 Live show Flintoff’s Ashes Roadshow. In 2022, he created his TV series ‘Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams’, a heartfelt documentary about using cricket to help young people find their purpose. Later in 2025, it would win the Royal Television Society Award for best Formatted Popular Factual programme.
