Abigail Ireland

Abigail Ireland is a peak performance strategist, podcast host, author and founder of Understanding Performance. Having helped thousands of executives, teams and individuals improve their productivity, resilience and wellbeing, Abigail has become a recognised authority in performance psychology and sustainable success. Combining business strategy with behavioural science, she equips audiences with practical tools that help people operate at their best in both professional and personal environments. Abigail is hired as a speaker for her ability to turn complex ideas around human performance into actionable strategies that create long-term impact.

Abigail began her career at Lloyds Bank, rapidly progressing from the graduate programme to Assistant Manager of Integrated Finance within just two years. Throughout her time with the organisation, she held numerous senior management positions and relocated to Australia, where she became Senior Manager of Strategy before serving as Business Manager to the CEO. Following her success with Lloyds, she moved to Westpac and worked as Business Manager to the COO, further developing her expertise in leadership, strategy and business operations.

Inspired by entrepreneurship, Abigail established her first business venture, Language Lane, an online network of over 300 language tutors operating across five continents. She subsequently moved into independent consultancy before founding Understanding Performance, where she combines psychology, behavioural science and business principles to help organisations and individuals achieve sustainable high performance. Alongside this, Abigail has also worked as a certified leadership coach and facilitator with Mind Gym, a Chartered Banker Certification Assessor with The Chartered Banker Institute, co-creator of Third Planet Collective and peak performance coach for Deepsky.

Abigail’s expertise is reinforced by an impressive range of qualifications, including certification as a chartered banker, personal trainer, nutrition coach, executive coach and NLP practitioner. She has shared her insights across major media publications, including GQ Magazine, HR Magazine, ILM and The Telegraph. Abigail is also the host of Pulsetto’s No Stress podcast, exploring mental fitness and resilience, and author of the forthcoming book “Performance Instinct: Harness Your Innate Abilities for Work”. Having worked with global brands including Disney, TikTok, Skillshare and Huel, Abigail continues to empower audiences with practical frameworks that improve performance and create lasting results.

Abigail is hired as a speaker because she combines real-world business leadership experience with expertise in psychology, productivity and behavioural change. Rather than delivering temporary motivation, she provides audiences with practical frameworks that help improve performance, build resilience and create sustainable habits.
