Kavya Krishna

Kavya Krishna is a social entrepreneur, technologist and CEO and Co-Founder of Society of Women Coders, a global nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to coding education for women and girls. Through her work, she has reached more than 40,000 learners across 57 countries, addressing structural barriers to opportunity through technology and education. Recognised as a Forbes 30 Under 30 North America honouree for Social Impact, Kavya is widely regarded as a rising leader in education, innovation and inclusive growth.

Raised in rural Rajasthan, India, Kavya experienced first-hand the challenges of unequal access to education and opportunity. This early perspective shaped her mission to create pathways for others through technology. She pursued a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, building a strong technical foundation that would underpin her future work in both industry and social impact.

Kavya began her professional career at SiriusXM, where she progressed from Data Engineering Intern to Data Engineer and later Senior Analyst in Subscriber Management and Analysis. During her time there, she contributed to supporting over 30 million subscribers and played a role in driving significant growth. Alongside her corporate career, she founded Society of Women Coders in 2018, launching initiatives in regions such as Haiti and Kenya and forming partnerships with organisations including the Malala Fund and US Embassies to expand global access to coding education.

Building on her impact in both technology and education, Kavya pursued further academic and leadership development. She completed a Master of Education at Harvard University, specialising in Education Entrepreneurship, and has been involved with the Harvard Innovation Labs. She also worked as a Research Associate at the HBS Impact Investment Fund and as an Impact Management Associate at LearnLaunch Fund, focusing on investment strategy and impact measurement. Kavya is currently completing an MBA at University of Oxford, supported by Skoll Impact Lab and Forte Fellowships, further strengthening her expertise at the intersection of business, education and social innovation.
