Tania de Jong

Tania de Jong AM is a globally recognised soprano, social entrepreneur and innovation leader whose career spans music, mental health advocacy and creative leadership. She is widely known for her pioneering work in using the arts to drive social change and for her role in advancing new approaches to mental health through her involvement with Mind Medicine Australia. With a rare ability to blend science, creativity and human connection, Tania is a powerful speaker on innovation, wellbeing and the transformative impact of the arts.

Tania began her professional journey as a classically trained soprano, releasing ten albums and touring internationally. Alongside her performance career, she developed a passion for using music as a tool for inclusion and empowerment. This led to the founding of The Song Room in 1999, an organisation that provides creative arts programmes for marginalised young people, helping them build confidence, resilience and engagement through music and the arts.

Her work evolved into broader innovation and leadership initiatives when she founded Creative Universe and Creative Innovation Global in 2009. These platforms bring together leaders from business, science, technology and the arts to explore new ways of thinking and problem-solving. In 2018, she co-founded Mind Medicine Australia, supporting research and advocacy around psychedelic-assisted therapies as emerging tools in mental health treatment, positioning her at the forefront of conversations about the future of wellbeing.

Tania’s contributions have been widely recognised. She has been named among the Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence and Richtopia’s 100 Most Influential Australian Entrepreneurs, and she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for her services to the arts and community. Across all her work, Tania champions creativity as a catalyst for innovation, connection and positive change.

Tania is hired as a speaker for her unique ability to bridge science, creativity and human potential. Her TED Talk How Singing Together Changes the Brain‘ demonstrates how collective creativity can transform wellbeing, performance and connection, and reflects her broader message that innovation begins with imagination and empathy. She brings together insights from neuroscience, the arts and leadership to show audiences how creativity can unlock new thinking and resilience.

Drawing on her work across music, social enterprise and mental health advocacy, Tania delivers inspiring, evidence-informed talks that energise audiences and spark new ways of approaching leadership and collaboration. Audiences leave with a deeper understanding of how creativity, inclusion and wellbeing drive sustainable innovation and human performance.
