Sindhu Vee is an Indian born British comedian, actor and writer who has become one of the most recognisable voices in British entertainment. She is known for her quick wit, sharp insight and warm delivery, and is widely celebrated for her breakout role as Mrs Phelps in the globally acclaimed film Matilda the Musical. A regular face on major television programmes, Sindhu has built a remarkable career as a multi award nominated comedian who brings a rare blend of intellect and humour to every stage.

Sindhu’s early life took her from Delhi to Lucknow and the Philippines, shaping her ability to read people and cultures with ease. She studied at the University of Delhi, the University of Oxford, McGill University and the University of Chicago, each adding another layer to her world view. Before stepping into comedy, she worked in London as a high flying bonds trader, a role that demanded precision, stamina and confidence. That experience now informs much of her humour and her ability to command a room. She began performing stand up in 2012 and quickly gained attention, securing a BBC New Comedy Award nomination in 2016 then finishing second in the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2017 and third at NATYS 2017.
