Inga Beale’s Biography:
Dame Inga Beale DBE is one of the world’s most highly respected business leaders, best known for being the first female Chief Executive Officer in the 327-year history of Lloyd’s of London. During her four-year tenure, she spearheaded a radical modernisation program, addressing cultural transformation and digital overhaul in one of the globe’s oldest and most traditional financial institutions.
Prior to Lloyd’s, Dame Inga had a distinguished international career spanning over three decades in the financial services sector. She held senior leadership roles, including CEO of both Swiss reinsurer Converium (now part of Scor) and the Lloyd’s-based insurer Canopius. Her career began as an underwriter at the Prudential, building a wealth of experience across underwriting, broking, and risk management in global markets like the US, Europe, and Asia.
A relentless advocate for Diversity and Inclusion and LGBTQ+ rights, Dame Inga broke barriers throughout her career and used her position to champion an inclusive culture at Lloyd’s and across the wider City of London.
