Promoting mental health and wellbeing at work is vital for both people and performance. Ill health costs the UK economy £150 billion each year, and poor mental health is now the leading cause of long-term absence, cited by 41% of organisations. These figures highlight the real impact of stress, burnout, and unaddressed mental health issues on productivity and retention. Encouragingly, more employers are taking action, with 57% now having a dedicated wellbeing strategy, up from 44%. Investing in mental health support creates healthier, happier teams, reduces absence, and strengthens workplace culture, helping businesses thrive in a competitive environment.

Mental health keynote speakers address how wellbeing affects performance, relationships, and resilience at work and beyond. They explore topics such as stress management, burnout prevention, and psychological safety, encouraging open and honest dialogue. A study by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, in partnership with Co-op, found that 34% of people would rather avoid discussing their mental health than risk an awkward conversation. Many speakers use insights like this to highlight the importance of reducing stigma and building supportive environments. Through personal stories and practical tools, they help audiences foster empathy, self-awareness, and a culture of genuine care.
